Adoptable Pups

MEET BODIE the PEKINGESE!!!
North New Jersey

Bodie is a 2-year-old, 13 lb. male tan with black mask Pekingese. This little guy is very sweet and pretty chill (typical Peke). He loves to lounge around and sun himself by the window. He gets attached quickly to his person and he enjoys playing with toys, chewing on nylabones, and playing with other pups his size.

Bodie has been brought UTD, neutered, he is HW and Lyme negative, dewormed, chipped, and housebroken. He did well at the vet and allowed all handling with no problem. He has been to our groomer a few times and has done very well and has even learned to trust having his front paws trimmed.

Bodie can be an “only dog” since he prefers people over dogs but he would do well with another doggie his size and energy level (and other Pekes of course). Breed experience is preferred and will be prioritized (or similar brachycephalic breeds). Incidentally, Bodie and Spaulding do EXTREMELY well together so it would be amazing if they were adopted together!

Bodie’s adoption donation is $550.

We cannot accept phone calls and PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with me, I will move on to the next application and you will not be considered.

We consider out-of-areas adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is first qualified, first come and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue.

Note: adoption donations are not negotiable. Our typical investment in our dogs is $1,200 (since we do mostly seniors and hospice) and it goes up from there so our adoption donations do not even cover their vet bills. If you cannot afford an adoption fee, you should not be adopting any dog. They are expensive, especially these little ones!
