Founder Lynn Nixon

Lynn Nixon

Chairman, CEO, and Founder

Lynn is a brand and marketing executive in the financial industry. She has lived with dogs and cats most of her life and got hooked on tiny breed dogs when she adopted her Peekapoos Ernie and Ozzy. She started fostering and volunteering for numerous rescues and through that process, took in a senior Pekingese named Ginger who was on her last leg. Little Ginger stole Lynn’s heart and ignited her passion for saving tiny seniors. Her home quickly turned into a sanctuary for senior and hospice Pekes and thus, The Gingerbread House was born. She chairs our board of directors and oversees all facets of the rescue. Lynn lives with her pups in northwest New Jersey and continues to foster and take in sanctuary pups.

Testimonial

“We had been looking for a while for a pup to adopt and even sent in a few applications. When we were contacted by Gingerbread House, it was quickly evident that they take rescue seriously and really want the best home for each dog. The interview process was thorough and fairly extensive … all to ensure the right match was being made. Lynn was readily available and spoke with us for quite some time, answering all questions we had, again insuring a good fit. She made the process painless, from application, to the meet and greet and then finally house visit and adoption. We would definitely recommend this rescue to anyone looking for a pup that needs a new home.”
