Adoptable Pups
Spaulding
MEET SPAULDING the PEKINGESE!!!
North New Jersey
Spaulding is a 2-year-old 18 lb. male black and white parti CKC Registered Pekingese. This little guy is SUPER sweet and he LOVES being with his people and giving hugs and kissies. He is very playful with toys and other pups. He can be rambunctious and would do well with a furry playmate of equal size and strength.
He is a very good listener and knows some commands. He is housebroken and looks to his person for guidance. He knows the routine in the home well. He was bought as a puppy into a home with three young children. Unfortunately, now that he is bigger he does not appreciate being man handled by small kids.
Thus, Spaulding needs a kid-free home (no young kids living or visiting) where he can continue to thrive. In his foster home he has been the sweetest most well-behaved little guy. He was wonderful at the groomer and at the vet. He loves everyone he meets and promptly jumps in your lap and gives kissies.
Spaulding has been brought UTD, neutered, he is HW and Lyme negative, had allergy testing, and is housebroken. He also knows how to use potty pads if they are available. He is allergic to chicken and doing well on a lamb-based kibble.
Given his energy level, a fenced in yard is required as is another fur sibling (or more) he can romp with. He really enjoys playing and hanging out with his fur friends.
Breed experience is preferred and will be prioritized (or similar brachycephalic breeds).
Spaulding’s adoption donation is $550.
We cannot accept phone calls and PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with me, I will move on to the next application and you will not be considered.
We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is first qualified, first come and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue.
Note: adoption donations are not negotiable. Our typical investment in our dogs is $1,200 (since we do mostly seniors and hospice) and it goes up from there so our adoption fees do not even cover their vet bills. If you cannot afford an adoption fee, you should not be adopting any dog. They are expensive, especially these little ones!
